Pete Graves has over 25 years experience in commercial credit administration, operations and technology related positions at a $3.4 billion commercial bank located in lower Michigan. He has achieved numerous career milestones across a broad band of strategic initiatives relating to credit administration, process design, and technology. As Senior Credit Administrator, Pete re-engineered the credit origination, underwriting, documentation, and portfolio monitoring processes utilizing the CreditQuest platform to facilitate a consolidation of four affiliate charters into a single credit culture.

As CIO, Pete is leveraging his credit and business experience to realign IBC’s technology integration process into a holistic approach focused on business needs. This new technology approach incorporates sound business and project methodologies to help manage change, reduce risk and drive strategic direction within the organization.

Prior to joining Independent Bank Corporation in 1981, he held various positions in the commercial credit services and retail lending fields.

Pete is a member of RMA and routinely participates in Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) Operations Forum and the CIO Forum hosted by SCB Forums. He received his B.A. in Business Administration and computer Science from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and his M.B.A. from Western Michigan University.
